Program reaches 14,000 trees planted under long-term environmental and livelihood partnership
Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) celebrated Arbor Day by leading a tree-planting activity in the Sierra Madre Mountains on June 2, 2026. The initiative saw the planting of 2,000 trees in Barangay Magsaysay, Siniloan, as part of the foundation’s ongoing five-year tree-planting and livelihood program.
The project is being carried out in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Magsaysay Coconut Farmers Association (MACOFA), with support from the local government of Siniloan.

Under DENR’s National Greening Program, the initiative aims to help combat deforestation while supporting the long-term growth and survival of fruit-bearing trees in the area. Since its launch in 2024, the program has planted a total of 14,000 trees, achieving its third-year target through the latest tree-planting activity.
Beyond reforestation efforts, the program also contributes to improving environmental conditions by helping promote cleaner air, healthier watersheds, and natural flood mitigation while creating long-term benefits for local communities.
The initiative reflects Honda Foundation’s commitment to contributing to environmental sustainability and community development while supporting Honda’s broader vision of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

The Arbor Day activity gathered around 80 volunteers, including members of HFI, representatives from DENR and MACOFA, and partners from the government sector.
