Manila, Philippines — Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has officially launched the Honda Prelude on April 17, 2026, marking its local debut. The hybrid coupe blends its well-loved heritage with modern technology, reintroducing the nameplate for today’s market.
Unlimited Glide Design Concept
Built around the concept of “Unlimited Glide,” the Honda Prelude is designed to deliver a smooth and comfortable driving experience. Its low stance, light proportions, and improved visibility aim to make every drive more enjoyable, balancing comfort, responsiveness, and refined handling.
Exterior
The Prelude introduces a new-generation sporty design that combines everyday usability with a dynamic presence. Its low and wide stance is complemented by 19-inch aluminum wheels and blue Brembo brake calipers, enhancing its sporty yet refined look. A sleek hatchback design also adds practicality and versatility for daily use.
Interior
Inside, the Prelude features a driver-focused cabin with an asymmetrical seating layout. The driver’s seat leans toward a sportier feel, while the passenger side is designed for comfort. A D-shaped steering wheel with Alcantara accents improves grip, while a 10.2-inch TFT LCD instrument panel provides clear visibility and a modern interface.
The cabin is further enhanced by an 8-speaker Bose sound system, delivering a more immersive in-car experience. Despite its coupe form, the hatchback layout allows flexible cargo space, expandable for luggage, golf bags, or other gear.
Drivetrain
The Prelude is powered by a 2.0L Atkinson cycle engine paired with Honda’s e:HEV hybrid system, producing 141 PS and 182 Nm of torque. It delivers a fuel efficiency rating of 25.6 km/L (DOE-certified).
Suspension components inspired by the Civic Type R contribute to improved handling while maintaining ride comfort. New coasting control, activated via paddle shifters, also helps improve efficiency during driving.
Honda S+ Shift System
The Prelude introduces Honda’s new S+ Shift system, designed to enhance driving feel in hybrid vehicles. Paired with selectable drive modes—Individual, Sport, GT, and Comfort—it creates a more engaging and responsive experience through sound, display, and driving feedback.
Technology and Safety
The Prelude comes equipped with Honda’s key technologies, including Honda SENSING, Honda CONNECT, and Google built-in services. These features support safety, convenience, and connectivity throughout every drive.
Extended Warranty Program
HCPI also introduces an Extended Warranty Program with the Prelude. Owners can enjoy a 5-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, along with an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, offering added peace of mind.
