The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) has installed its new Board of Directors, naming Autohub Group President and CEO Willy Tee Ten as the organization’s new President.

The leadership transition comes at a time when electric mobility in the Philippines continues to gain momentum, supported by increasing vehicle adoption, expanding charging infrastructure, and evolving government policy.

Tee Ten succeeds Edmund Araga, who now assumes the role of Ex-Officio Immediate Past President after serving four terms leading the organization.

Industry Momentum Continues

Tee Ten brings extensive automotive industry experience through the Autohub Group, which distributes electrified vehicle brands in the Philippines including Zeekr, Mini, and Lotus.

Electric vehicle adoption in the country has accelerated significantly in recent years, with EV sales increasing from fewer than 1,000 units in 2022 to nearly 20,000 units in 2025. Electric vehicles accounted for approximately 7% of total vehicle sales in 2025, representing significant year-on-year growth.

Charging infrastructure has also expanded, with the number of stations increasing from around 300 charging points in 2023 to nearly 1,000 in 2025. Industry targets aim to reach approximately 7,300 charging stations nationwide by 2028.

Continuing the Push Toward Electrification

Under the previous leadership, EVAP supported key initiatives such as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), which provides a framework for the development of the country’s EV ecosystem.

With new leadership in place, EVAP is expected to continue working with industry stakeholders, policymakers, and mobility providers to help accelerate EV adoption and support the country’s transition toward electrified transport.
