The Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup is set to kick off its 2026 season with a street race in Riverpark, Cavite, bringing motorsports action closer to fans south of Metro Manila.

Scheduled for March 13 to 15, 2026, the race weekend will see the debut of the Tamaraw OMR, Toyota’s new one-make race car, taking on a 2.4-kilometer street circuit in Riverpark, General Trias. Best of all, admission to the event will be free for spectators!

Toyota Motor Philippines has been organizing the TGR Philippine Cup since 2014, creating a platform to bring the excitement of motorsports closer to Filipino fans. Last year’s event in Bacoor, Cavite attracted over 12,000 spectators, featuring races, driving exhibitions, live performances, and vehicle displays.

Now entering its 12th season, the TGR Philippine Cup adds the Next Generation Tamaraw OMR to its lineup of locally developed racing machines, joining the Vios OMR in the one-make race series.

Originally previewed as the Tamaraw Racing Concept, the vehicle has undergone continuous testing before being introduced as a full race-ready platform for the 2026 season. Toyota also made the Tamaraw Race Car Package available to racing teams earlier this year.

The new platform will headline the Sprint Races under the Tamaraw Racing Class, where identical Tamaraw OMR machines will compete wheel-to-wheel.

Among the racers representing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines are Toyota Motor Philippines President Masando Hashimoto, along with Chenee Jimenez, Alex Lim (also known as Banaweboy), Justin Buzzhype, Enzo Ison, and Will Lucas.

They will face competition from seasoned drivers and former Vios Cup champions including Iñigo Anton, Dominic Ochoa, Alain Alzona, and Jesse Garcia.

A Full Weekend of Racing and Activities

Aside from the Tamaraw Racing Class, the Sporting, Super Sporting, and Legacy Classes will return using the Vios OMR race cars. The 2026 grid is expected to feature 30 racers battling it out on track.

Fans can also expect more than just racing throughout the weekend. Eventgoers will be able to check out Toyota Gazoo Racing performance vehicles, Lexus models, and upcoming Toyota vehicles such as the RAV4 and Urban Cruiser on display.

Those looking to experience the thrill of racing themselves can try sim racing rigs at the e-Motorsports display, while official GR merchandise will also be available during the event.

Members of Toyota car clubs will also have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive track day experience around the Riverpark street circuit.

Free Entry and Live Broadcast

Fans who want to catch the action live can register for free passes online, while those unable to attend can watch the races through the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook and YouTube pages, with the live broadcast starting at 9:00 AM during race weekend.
