The Nissan Kicks is back—and this time, it’s coming with a stronger case for drivers who want the benefits of electric-motor driving without having to plug in.
Nissan Philippines has officially launched the All-New Kicks e-POWER, bringing more technology, comfort, and driver-assistance features to the subcompact crossover that first introduced Nissan’s e-POWER system to the Philippine market.
Under Nissan’s “Live Daring” campaign, the All-New Kicks builds on the formula that made the nameplate stand out locally: an electric motor drives the wheels, while a gasoline engine generates electricity for the system.
That means drivers get electric-motor-driven performance without needing to charge the vehicle externally, a setup that could make the Kicks particularly appealing to motorists who are interested in electrification but aren’t ready to change their usual refueling habits.
The EV Experience Without the Plug
At the heart of the Kicks is Nissan’s e-POWER system, which combines a gasoline engine, a lithium-ion battery, and an electric motor that provides propulsion.
The electric motor produces 136 PS and 280 Nm of torque, giving the Kicks the responsive acceleration associated with an electric vehicle while the gasoline engine acts as a generator rather than directly driving the wheels.
Unlike a conventional hybrid that can send power from its gasoline engine to the wheels, e-POWER is essentially electric-motor driven with an onboard gasoline generator. For Filipino drivers, that means no need to plan trips around charging stations or install a home charger.
And that could be one of the Kicks’ biggest advantages in making electrified driving feel more familiar.
More Than Just a New Face
The All-New Nissan Kicks returns with a substantially refreshed design that gives the crossover a more modern and confident presence.
The exterior features a redesigned front fascia with Nissan’s signature V-Motion grille, a new lighting signature, and distinctive triple-arrow daytime running lights. At the rear, redesigned taillights and updated bumpers further set the All-New Kicks apart.
Inside, Nissan has also made significant upgrades to the cabin, bringing in new technology, improved connectivity, and enhanced comfort features that make the Kicks better suited for everyday driving.
A Much Smarter Cabin
Inside, Nissan has made some of the biggest changes.
The Kicks now gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 12.3-inch Display Audio system with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher variants also receive features such as wireless smartphone charging and an Intelligent Rearview Mirror.
Comfort has also received attention, particularly for a vehicle intended for everyday urban driving.
The Kicks features Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats with anti-heat leather upholstery, while equipped variants get a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Rear passengers also benefit from an optimized seatback angle and a rear center armrest with cupholders.
There’s also 470 liters of cargo space, giving the compact crossover enough room for groceries, luggage, and weekend gear.
NissanConnect and ProPILOT Join the Package
Technology isn’t limited to the infotainment screen.
The All-New Kicks introduces NissanConnect Services, allowing owners to connect their vehicle to their smartphone for functions such as remote engine start and vehicle monitoring.
The bigger addition, however, is Nissan ProPILOT, available on the range-topping LE Plus.
ProPILOT combines Intelligent Lane Keep Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control to assist with steering, acceleration, and braking. It also includes Traffic Jam Assist, which can help bring the vehicle to a stop and resume movement in traffic.
The Kicks also gains a broader collection of driver-assistance technologies, including Blind Spot Warning with Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Departure Prevention, Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, depending on the variant.
Three Variants for Different Drivers
The All-New Nissan Kicks e-POWER is available in three variants in the Philippines:
- Kicks e-POWER VE – ₱1,499,000
- Kicks e-POWER VL – ₱1,649,000
- Kicks e-POWER LE Plus – ₱1,749,000
The Kicks is available in Aquamarine Metallic, Gun Metallic, Pearl White, and Moon Pearl Gray, while the LE Plus can also be specified with a contrasting black roof.
Nissan is also offering a complimentary one-year Nissan Protect+ package covering prepaid maintenance, alongside an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty and a 5-year/150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty.
An Electrified Crossover Built Around Familiar Habits
The All-New Kicks arrives at an interesting point in the Philippine market.
There are now more hybrids and EVs than ever competing for buyers, but the Kicks takes a slightly different route. Instead of asking drivers to completely change how they refuel, e-POWER lets them experience electric-motor-driven performance while continuing to use gasoline as their energy source.
For drivers who want to take a step toward electrification but still value the convenience of conventional refueling, that could be the Kicks’ biggest advantage.
