- Toyota celebrates its community: The Toyota Legacy Experience brought local Toyota clubs and enthusiasts together for a three-day celebration of the brand’s heritage.
- More than car ownership: Clubs like Hilux Club Philippines, Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines, FJ Cruiser Owners Philippines, and Grupo Toyota highlight the friendships, family, and community built around Toyota.
- Keeping the legacy alive: Owners, collectors, car clubs, and aftermarket shops continue to preserve and celebrate Toyota’s heritage for future generations.
For generations, Toyota has earned the trust of Filipinos through its vehicles, services, and commitment to Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR), supported by its extensive network. From family sedans and hardworking pickups to iconic SUVs, Toyota has become part of countless milestones, adventures, and everyday journeys in line with its mission of providing mobility for all.
But beyond the vehicles themselves is another important part of Toyota’s legacy—the community that has grown alongside the brand.
This spirit was on full display during the Toyota Legacy Experience, where Toyota enthusiasts from across the country gathered at Eton City Square for a three-day celebration of Toyota’s heritage and legacy. While the event brought together a diverse group of owners and enthusiasts, their shared appreciation for Toyota brought everyone together for a weekend celebrating the joy of moving forward as a community.

Built on Adventure and Community
Among the Toyota car clubs that took part in the event was Hilux Club Philippines (HCP). What started in 2011 as a small group of enthusiasts has grown into one of the country’s active Toyota communities.
While off-road adventures and camping remain at the heart of the club, HCP has also developed a strong culture of friendship, family, and service through outreach programs and community activities.
For HCP core member JC Diaz and head Twyford Ong, their shared passion for the Hilux may have brought them together, but it was the community and friendships they built along the way that kept them connected through the years.
“Hilux Club Philippines is more than just a group of Hilux owners. We enjoy off-roading, camping, helping communities, and spending time together as friends and families. I joined because of my love for the Hilux, but I stayed because of the people and the friendships we built through the years,” shared Diaz.
Ong shared a similar sentiment, highlighting how the organization has grown into a close-knit community.
“We don’t just go on trail drives. We also organize outreach activities, help communities, and support one another. What keeps me going is seeing members build friendships, bring their families along, and use their Hiluxes to make a positive difference,” he said.
Across generations of the Hilux, members continue to celebrate the vehicle’s toughness, capability, and dependability. But for many club members, the relationships built through their shared passion have become just as meaningful as the vehicles themselves.

A Legacy Ingrained in Filipino Culture
For the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines (LCCP), the Land Cruiser represents more than an iconic vehicle. It embodies resilience, service, family, and a legacy passed down through generations.
For LCCP head Gerald Lim, that legacy is deeply personal. Growing up with Land Cruisers in his family, Lim witnessed his father drive the iconic 40 Series before other legendary models, including the LC 70 FRP, BJ44, and 80 Series, became part of their garage.
“For me, owning a Land Cruiser is not just about possessing a vehicle; it is an inseparable part of my identity and a living testament to my family’s history,” shared Lim.
For Lim, the Land Cruiser has come to represent reliability, resilience, and purpose. Through the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines, he has also used the vehicle to support charitable efforts and provide assistance during calamities, especially in areas where “roads are not required.”
He hopes future generations will continue to understand the Land Cruiser as more than a vehicle that takes people from one place to another.
“I hope the next generation carries this legacy forward by understanding that a Land Cruiser is built for a purpose which is to explore the world, protect the family, and extend a helping hand to communities in need, anytime and anywhere,” added Lim.

Communities That Go Beyond Ownership
While every Toyota club has its own identity, they share a common purpose: bringing people together.
For FJ Cruiser Owners Philippines (FJCOP), the community gives enthusiasts a space to exchange maintenance tips, modification ideas, travel experiences, and technical knowledge while helping one another get the most out of their FJ ownership experience. The club has also gained recognition among enthusiasts around the world for the quality of FJ builds coming from the Philippine scene.
According to Francis Edward Ayala, the club has always focused on building meaningful relationships among owners.
“Our community allows owners to connect with others who share the same passion. Beyond the vehicles themselves, we build friendships, share knowledge, organize activities, and help one another get the most out of ownership,” he shared.
Looking ahead, Ayala sees Toyota’s expanding SUV lineup as an opportunity to welcome more enthusiasts while continuing the culture of camaraderie the club has developed over the years.
Beyond model-specific clubs, Grupo Toyota brings together enthusiasts from across Toyota’s diverse lineup. Instead of focusing on a single vehicle, the community celebrates the relationships among owners through gatherings, outreach activities, and collaborations with other Toyota clubs.
For Robert Tan, these relationships are what truly define the community.
“It’s the relationship that has been developed throughout the years,” he shared.
Tan also believes that being a Toyota owner goes beyond having a dependable vehicle. It also means helping and respecting fellow Filipino car enthusiasts.
“The quintessential Toyota owner is always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow car enthusiast. True Toyota enthusiasts have no prejudice, and we welcome and respect everyone who shares their passion,” he added.

Partners in Keeping the Legacy Going
Toyota recognizes that its long-standing heritage is also shaped by the people who dedicate their time, effort, and passion to their vehicles.
Alongside local car clubs, aftermarket shops also joined the Toyota Legacy Experience by showcasing their modified Toyota vehicles. These businesses play an important role in helping enthusiasts maintain, restore, and personalize their vehicles while contributing to the preservation of Toyota’s automotive heritage for future generations.
From families passing their Toyotas down through generations and clubs building lifelong friendships, to collectors preserving automotive history and aftermarket shops helping owners personalize their vehicles, each member of the community plays a part in keeping Toyota’s legacy alive.
As Toyota continues to evolve through new technologies and mobility solutions, the community behind the brand remains an important part of its heritage.
Together, owners, clubs, collectors, and aftermarket shops continue to keep Toyota’s legacy moving through the people who drive, preserve, and celebrate it.
