Nissan Philippines has announced the appointment of Yoshinori Kanazawa as its new President, effective April 1, 2026. He will be based in Manila and report directly to the President of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand.

Kanazawa takes over the role following the promotion of Masao Tsutsumi, who now assumes the position of President of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand.

A Regional Leader Steps In

Prior to his appointment, Kanazawa served as Managing Director of the Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU), ASEAN, and Managing Director of Nissan Singapore Pte. Ltd., based in Thailand.

In these roles, he oversaw Nissan’s importer business operations across Southeast Asia and worked closely with regional partners to support market development across the ASEAN region.

With nearly two decades of experience at Nissan, Kanazawa has held leadership positions across Japan, China, and other international markets. His background spans corporate planning, product planning, and dealer network development, giving him a well-rounded understanding of both strategy and operations.

Leadership Transition at Nissan Philippines

Kanazawa succeeds Tsutsumi, who led Nissan Philippines through a period of sustained growth and strengthened market presence. During his tenure, Tsutsumi worked closely with dealer partners and internal teams to expand the company’s network and enhance the overall customer experience.

Tsutsumi’s promotion follows a broader leadership reshuffle within Nissan, with Toshihiro Fujiki moving into a global role as Corporate Executive for Aftersales at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

What Comes Next

Kanazawa’s official inauguration will proceed following compliance with Philippine regulatory requirements and confirmation by the Nissan Philippines Board of Directors.

His appointment marks the next phase for Nissan Philippines as it continues to build on its regional momentum and strengthen its presence in the local market.
